Nestled in Central Hutt on Connolly Street, our centre offers a warm, welcoming, home-like environment where tamariki and whānau feel a true sense of belonging from the moment they arrive. At our centre, relationships are at the heart of everything we do, and we value creating strong partnerships with whānau, ensuring every child feels cared for, supported, and celebrated.
Our purpose-built under two’s space includes two calm and nurturing learning spaces, Koru Room and Kōwhai Room, each caring for up to 12 babies. Our babies are supported to develop naturally and at their own pace, and kaiako work closely with whānau to establish each child’s sense of belonging and well-being. Both rooms open onto their own outdoor areas with sandpits, where tamariki can safely enjoy fresh air, sensory play, and early exploration.
Rimu Room, our toddler space, is set within a cosy bungalow-style home with an open plan learning space. We have a large outdoor area designed for active play, messy play, and discovery. With indoor, outdoor flow, and ample space, tamariki are supported and encouraged to explore, take risks and challenge themselves, in a safe and secure environment. Our kaiako bring a sense of fun to learning and foster our toddler’s growing independence.
Rata Room, our preschool space, is also set in a welcoming bungalow and opens onto a large yard shaded by a beautiful pohutukawa tree; climbing the tree is a favourite activity. In our Rata Room, curiosity is encouraged and tamariki are supported to lead their learning, in a supportive and inclusive environment. Our 4-year-olds have the opportunity to take part in our before school programme so they can leave Millie’s House as confident and capable learners, ready for their next step.
You’ll find us here Monday- Friday, 7:00am to 5:30pm, with both on-site and street parking available to make drop-offs and pick-ups easy.
