You’ll find us here Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 6pm, focusing on having fun, building relationships and learning through play to grow confident, competent and active learners. That includes our teachers and whanau too!

Haere mai and Welcome to our lovely and homely centre, which is located at Waiwhetu, Lower Hutt.

At Millie’s House Waiwhetu, we aspire for inclusiveness and equitable practices for all learners, ensuring we acknowledge the special place of te ao Māori.

We believe that tamariki, parents, caregivers and whānau should feel welcome and supported when entering our centre. We strive for positive, respectful, and collaborative relationships with our community.

We support ngā tamariki learning priorities and progress against the early learning outcomes of Te Whāriki through planning exciting and stimulating learning experiences at our centre and beyond, as we explore our community. Our passionate Kaiako enjoy share the learning of ngā tamariki through Storypark and are always happy to engage with parents, whānau and caregivers.

Our Team

Our Team led by our manager Upu, are passionate, dedicated and fun. We are committed to developing partnerships with our learning community, and creating memorable learning opportunities and experiences for all.

Our centre team is supported by a Regional and Operations Manager, as well the other teams and leaders in the Millie's group. Friends and connections in the ECE community, the support of consultants, Professional Development, MOE and ERO all contribute to our ongoing commitment to ensuring we are offering the best to your tamariki.

ERO Report

Because we are one of the newest Millie's centres, joining only in June 2021, we have not yet had an ERO as a Millie's House centre.

Next on the horizon for us will be an MOE relicensing visit - this ensures we are meeting the requirements of the Licensing Criteria. We expect this around October 2021. Then six months later will be our first Akanuku (compliance) ERO review.
