Our pre-school rooms are where more focussed learning and school readiness really starts to take place.
Right from babies, we have been intentionally assessing, evaluating, planning and implementing a curriculum designed for your child. For our preschool group, we are focussed on building their confidence and capabilities so when they leave us for school, they are ready, confident and excited. Self-help skills, theorising, trying and problem solving, social competence, knowledge and understanding of pre maths and literacy skills and concepts, physical development is an important part of our focus.
Preschool is not lessons and formal approaches to learning. Whilst our kaiako plan and intentionally provide specific experiences and strategies to support tamariki progress, this happens within an interesting and exciting learning through play environment. Kaiako focus on tamariki as individuals, identifying and planning for what they need from us to help them progress.

Our focus is to support progress over time, to encourage creative, intelligent and critical thinkers, who are engaged in what they are doing. Those kinds of thinkers do better at school, better in life and are ready for an ever-evolving world.
By the time your child leaves Millie’s House for school, they will have the foundations of learning and be ready to embrace their next challenge.
